Tour of Homes Recap!

Thanks to all of your, our 3rd Annual Tour of Homes was a major success! With the money raised, we were able to donate a full $900 each to the Norman Binkley and Crieve Hall Elementary Schools!

One of the best bonuses from the Tour came from one of the homeowners, who got to meet the original homeowner, her daughter and granddaughter - talk about neighbors connecting! Here is a video recap of some of the homes...

This year, a portion will go to both Norman Binkley and Crieve Hall Elementary Schools as well!
How Much? $10 in advance, $12 day of.

How do I pay?

Get your day-of tickets for $12 here:

You can pick up your tickets in advance by bringing your PayPal receipt to Unique Flavors Cafe anytime before.

Or, you may send a check made out to CHNA to: Ashley Logsdon, 321 Fieldcrest Dr. Nashville, TN 37211. (make sure I get it by the 1st or it doesn't cut it!)

Your name will be put on the registration list as paid and you will come to 321 Fieldcrest Drive (we're in the tour) on the day of to get your tickets and map. (Think of it the same way as "will call").  For those of you paying by check, make this your first stop on the tour.

What Time?  You can start the Tour anytime from 1-3:30 (ticket sales stop at 3:30). You do NOT have to start promptly at 1pm--it's much better if we have crowds through the whole time period!

Where do I start?  Anywhere you want!  If you already have your tickets and brochures, you can start wherever you like!  If you need to pick up tickets/brochures, you may do so at 490 Oakley Drive or at Unique Flavors Cafe.   You may go in any order you wish – you do NOT have to go in sequential number order and it would be best if you didn’t so that the attendees are spread out over the six homes. You will receive a program with a map of all the homes when you get your ticket.

How does this work?  The homeowners will greet you in groups and take you on a tour of their home, pointing out details, renovations, answering questions, etc. It's very laid back and you have the opportunity to ask anything you want about the house. We typically allocate about 15 minutes per home to tour--make sure you have enough time to see them all!

Any other details? Please be careful where you park--respect people's lawns and be considerate of traffic. We suggest that you do not bring young children. If you do, please, no strollers, and keep them in your arms at all times. If they are old enough to walk on their own, they must get a ticket. In case of rain, we will still have the event--but you may be requested to remove your shoes at the door!

The Date has been set!

We're so excited to share with  you the details for our 3rd Annual Tour of Homes.  We've obviously switched it up a little by moving it to October, but our hope is that a) you'll get to see the beauty of our neighborhood in a different season, and b) it coincides perfectly with our Crieve Hall Fall In The Hall event.

Details for the Fall in the Hall are:
September 17, 10am-1pm, Crievewood United Methodist Church
We will be selling Tour of Homes tickets at this event!

For the Tour of Homes, we have six beautiful houses to display, some with great renovations and others with wonderful history on this neighborhood.

We're looking forward to this event and hope you all will spread the word.  For anyone who lives in the neighborhood, is looking to live in the neighborhood, or just wants to see some kickin' renovations and get their own ideas, this Tour is where you need to be on October 2nd!

Crieve Hall Tour 2011 Has Been Moved to OCTOBER!

Yes, due to the craziness of life and the bustling spring season, we have decided to move the Tour of Homes to October instead of April this year.  There are two reasons for this--one, so we have more time to plan, and two, because we can then sell tickets at the Neighborhood Fall Party (date to be determined).  At this point, this is what we are still looking for:
  • Volunteers for the committee--help on day of, help promoting, getting ads, etc.
  • Houses for the Tour (we are halfway full, but need a few more)
  • Advertisers for the brochure
  • Ways to promote the Tour
An extra perk this year...we will be working in conjunction with our favorite local restaurant,  Unique Flavors Cafe to offer a brunch before the Tour of Homes.  Tickets will be available at the restaurant the day of--come early and enjoy some wonderful food before the tour!

Please stay tuned to this site for more updates, and if you are interested in volunteering or having your home in the tour, please contact us at CrieveHallTour@gmail.com.

2010 Tour has ended, $1k to Cystic Fibrosis!

The big day has passed, and what a day it was! It was beautiful weather and we had a great crowd!  Roughly 200 people came to see the homes, and we were able to raise enough to not only cover costs and beef up our Crieve Hall Cares fund, but to donate a whopping $1,000 to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation!

The CFF is now gearing up for their GREAT STRIDES Walk at the Nashville Zoo.  You were able to find out details at the tour, and now we have a Crieve Hall team!  If you want to be on it, please sign up here.  It's under the name of the CHC Committee Co-chair, Brooke Vigerust.  More details on the GREAT STRIDES walk at the bottom of this post!
For those of you who didn't get to go (and those of you who did), for your enjoyment, here is a slideshow of all the homes!  Thank you to Stephanie Hambley of Stephanie Marie Photographie for taking pictures of all the homes:

Some comments from attendees:

This was the first year I've done the tour and I thought it was AMAZING - it flowed so well, and the homes were beautiful! Great job to you and everyone who made it happen!! ~Kim Strickland

Hi! My name is Blake. I am a “CF sister”, volunteer and current Board President of the CFF’s TN Chapter. I wanted to take a moment to extend my sincere thanks to you! ...we have YOU to thank for arranging for the CFF to receive some of the proceeds from Crieve Hall’s tour of homes. What a wonderful idea and gracious gesture!

Although I live just outside of Crieve Hall, I spend a great deal of time in that area and just love it... the neighborhood of Crieve Hall recognizing the CFF as a part of the community means a great deal to me, both personally and as a CFF volunteer.

Many, many thanks for your support!
Sincerely,
Blake
Thank you, thank you to all of the homeowners and volunteers that helped make the Tour happen this year. Each year is a stepping stone to an even better event, and we have had fun getting to know our neighbors and touring some beautiful houses! I'm honored to be a part of this community, and I'm thrilled to see how we've all taken pride in our homes and our neighborhood!

In light of the rainy weather lately, this is a perfect time to spotlight Crieve Hall Cares.  The Crieve Hall Neighborhood Association really has some great resources to help people out, and we really need to remember this in times of disaster.  We've just updated the CHC website with the latest information on who to contact to get organized and help our neighbors out.  Please check this out--we need volunteers and we need to know how we can help you!

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a devastating genetic disease that affects tens of thousands of children and young adults in the United States . Research and care supported by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is making a huge difference in extending the quality of life for those with CF. However, we continue to lose precious lives to CF every day. That's why your help is needed now more than ever to ensure that a cure is found sooner - rather than later. To learn more about CF and the CF Foundation, visit www.cff.org.
Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those with CF! Thank you for supporting the mission of the CF Foundation and GREAT STRIDES!

Crieve Hall Tour 2010 is coming up soon!

We are officially in the planning phases for the 2010 Crieve Hall Tour of Homes. The first one was better than we'd hoped for, and we're confident that this year will be even bigger.
We're solidifying details for selling advertising, promoting the tour, and, of course, getting homes for the Tour! If you are interested in promoting your business, please contact Lynda Jones as soon as possible.

Last year, most of our funds went to starting the Crieve Hall Cares Committee and creating a nest egg where we can help people in our community. This year, we have the honor of giving a portion of the proceeds to another organization right here in our neighborhood--the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation! The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is a non-profit organization that raises funds for research for a cure for cystic fibrosis and care for those people currently suffering with the genetic disease. The local TN chapter office is on Trousdale in the shopping center right beside the "new" Crieve Hall sign. Right now they are working to promote their Great Strides Event being held at the Nashville Zoo--you'll be able to learn more about it at one of the homes on the Tour!

*The money raised by CFF goes directly into patient care, research, and education at a rate of nearly 90 cents per every dollar. This is an exciting time for the CFF as many believe a cure for CF is in sight. I think this would be a great organization in the neighborhood to support.
